Lee Miller & Picasso Exhibition in Edinburgh
The exhibition ‘Lee Miller and Picasso’ is running until 6th September in the Scottish National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh.
It was a pleasure to see the work of one prolific artist captured by another and get a tantalising glimpse at the lives of this group of close friends who just happened to be defining the art world together. Well worth a visit. From the catalogue: “Photographer Lee Miller first met Picasso in the summer of 1937 whilst holidaying in the South of France. In the ensuing years she photographed the Spanish artist more than 1,000 times and he in turn, painted her portrait six times. The exhibition reveals the love and experiences of their long-lasting friendship”.
