Our Work / Belfast Book Festival 2011, Design

Branding

The Crescent Arts Centre hosted the Belfast Book Festival for the first time in 2011 and it was their intention to make it as open and inviting as possible. The problem was that they only had around a month between receiving confirmation of funding and the first event. We needed to get a full suite of marketing concepted, designed and produced in time to sell it.

The Identity

We designed the festival logo and general theme first, before applying it to billboards, banners, brochures, flyers and posters.

The Brochure

The brochure was quite content-heavy so we needed to section it by themes, developing a suite of six completely different image & typography treatments.

Just as quickly as the work was completed the festival was upon us and Belfast was covered in items bearing that distinctive red leather graphic. It was a lot of hard work and late nights but we were also gifted a generous amount of creative freedom by the festival organisers and that’s why we love working with Arts Organisations.

Thanks specifically to Melissa and Hugh at @CrescentArts for the opportunity to work on such a lovely job.
