Ideas / 26 Treasures Exhibition, Belfast

26 Treasures was an exhibition at London’s V&A Museum by the folks behind 26.org – a resource for writers and the clients who need their help. The plan was to pair-up an object from the museum with a writer and see what creative sparks would happen as a result. Now 26 has expanded their reach to locations outside London and their vision to encompass the visual artist. BAG of BEES is delighted to have been asked to play a part in the Belfast exhibition.

The designers and a writer were paired at random, before The Ulster Museum provided an object from their permanent collection to discuss, decode and represent with a new work.

We have been matched with local philosopher, poet and champion of creativity Alistair Fee and the Museum has provided a pair of bronze age horns unearthed from a dig in Drumbest, Ballymoney.

The artwork which was hidden under a layer of thick black ink which the viewer was encouraged to scrape away, revealing the image beneath. The graphic was a bull’s head made up of thousands of tiny horn graphics.
